The Concave Pomaderris is an erect multi-stemmed shrub that grows to 3 meters high. It is characterized by a dense covering of minute star shaped hairs on its branches and leaves and small green slighly concave leaves.

The Concave Pomaderris Pomaderris subplicata is listed as Vulnerable under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and Threatened under the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988. The species is endemic to north-eastern Victoria, where there are only two wild populations containing about 220 plants. One of these populations is on HVP land.

HVP participates in actions under the National recovery plan in partnership with other stakeholders including DELWP, Parks Victoria, the Society for Growing Australian Native Plants Wangaratta, Melbourne Herbarium. Our staff have taken part in the annual planting on the HVP estate over the past three years.

Major threats to populations include weed invasion, grazing and lack of regeneration, and accidental damage.

All activities are undertaken in consultation with the management plan. Actions include site signage, which aims to improve the roadside recognition and awareness for staff and plantation workers, with the added objective being to locating additional sites on HVP land. Environmental weed and pest animal control on site as required, and broad-leaf weed control within the adjoining plantation area.
