HVP’s Log Truck Safety in Schools Program

The Log Truck Safety Program operate in Schools that are located close to haulage routes and aims to improve the safety knowledge of kids when it comes to interacting with these powerful machines.

Delivered by retired VicRoads Safety Officers, the interactive program explores perceptions about trucks and is designed to show kids the differences between trucks and cars, including video footage from inside a truck and how they can be safer around them.

The highlight is always the “Meet the Driver:” segment where the kids get to talk with the driver, ask lots of questions .and then inspect the truck with the driver. A few lucky kids get to sit in the drivers seat to see how the mirrors work. It is not only the kids that get a kick out of the time but the driver as well.
